Being there, at the Acropolis, of which we had heard so much in all of our lives, touching the stones, stepping on the marble, was something that blew our minds. So much that on the next day we returned to the place but with a tour guide who explained us everything about this incredible piece of history.

The Heart of the Atica

On July of 2009, we arrived to Athens on the start of a trip which was very well organized by the people from Turismo Clabe. After around 14 hours in an Alitalia plane, we got to the hotel Jason Inn, on Assomaton Street, 105 53 Athens, place which I recommend because of the perfect comfort, price and commodities it offers to customers.

Our first experience in the city was to walk to the city center near the Plaka neighborhood, and from there, take a train that went all around the most important streets. The good thing about this is that you can get up and down all the times you wish, and all for the same price.

Our first stop was a few steps from the well-known Acropolis. We got to this one after almost climbing the last steps of the little mountain, but on the end we made it. Don’t forget that at this time of the year, Greece can be a place with really high temperatures. However, nothing is too bad to ruin your trip. I’d rather prefer going on summer than on winter.

Being there, at the Acropolis, of which we had heard so much in all of our lives, touching the stones, stepping on the marble, was something that blew our minds. So much that on the next day we returned to the place but with a tour guide who explained us everything about this incredible piece of history.

With everything I have seen, everything the tour guides explained to me, and everything I have acknowledged by myself by reading books and internet websites, I will try to explain everything I have experienced with perfect details.
